Nursing and patient care are certainly fields that are in high demand. More than likely, that need will just continue to grow. We are proud to offer a number of options in our nursing program at Broward Technical Colleges that cater to many nursing and patient care specialties.

Patient Care Technician

Interested in entering the medical field but don’t have any experience? By becoming a patient care technician, you work directly with patients while completing a plethora of duties. This is a 600-hour course that takes approximately six months to complete.

After completing the program, you will be eligible to take the State Certified Nursing Assistant Certification Examination. The program goes over a variety of skills that will help prepare you for your future career too.

  • 12-lead EKG
  • Basic phlebotomy techniques
  • Restorative skills

Practical Nursing

The practical nursing program ensures you are ready for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care in both hospitals and extended care facilities. You’ll also learn clinical and theory procedures.

This is a 1350-hour course that takes approximately one year to complete. By completing this course, you’ll be eligible to take the NCLEX-PN licensure examination. If you pass, you’ll receive a license from the Florida State Board of Nursing.
