Our Medical Assisting Program: The Details
While some people become medical assistants through on-the-job training, most earn their job title by completing some postsecondary education and training. Like our nursing program, our Medical Assisting Program takes approximately 12 months to complete. This program requires students to attend 1,300 hours of classroom training and learning.
As you familiarize yourself with our courses and rapid credentialing programs, you’ll see that our courses are comprehensive. As an enrollee in our Medical Assisting Program, you’ll learn how to perform tasks you’ll be expected to do once you’re employed as a medical assistant.
The BLS reports that medical assistants “complete administrative and clinical tasks…in healthcare facilities.” Those facilities may include a:
- Doctor’s office
- Urgent care
- Hospital
- Long-term care facility
- School
- Outpatient clinic
Just like you can work in a lot of different environments as a medical assistant, you’ll need skills in a variety of areas, such as:
- Radiology
