Atlantic Technical College, McFatter Technical College and Sheridan Technical College – have received close to $2.47 million through Florida’s 2026/27 Prepping Institutions, Programs, Employers
and Learners through Incentives for Nursing Education (PIPELINE) Program. The allocation represents the largest amount awarded to a school district’s technical colleges through the program.
Broward Technical Colleges earned this award through strong practical nursing program completion rates and exceptional outcomes in the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX).
Florida’s NCLEX pass rate average is 84.9% and the national NCLEX pass rate average is 91.16%. BCPS Technical Colleges
highlights reflected in 2024/25 data include:
- Atlantic Technical College – 81 Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) graduates achieved a 98.63% NCLEX pass rate, exceeding both state and national averages, and earning more than any other technical college in the state.
- McFatter Technical College – 50 LPN graduates achieved a 95.56% NCLEX pass rate, outperforming the state and national averages.
- Sheridan Technical College – 79 LPN graduates achieved an 84.85% NCLEX pass rate.
“Nursing education is a top priority in Broward County and strategic investments from the state, like the PIPELINE program, support the next generation of nurses by expanding opportunities and delivering high-quality educational programs,” said BCPS Superintendent Dr. Howard Hepburn.

Broward Technical Colleges are part of the Broward County Public Schools and are comprised of three main locations with eight campuses: Atlantic Technical College in Coconut Creek and Fort Lauderdale, McFatter Technical College in Davie and Sheridan Technical College in Hollywood and Pembroke Pines. The colleges’ practical nursing programs are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and consistently deliver high-quality graduates who are sought after by healthcare facilities across the tri-county area and beyond.
