Early Childhood Education
Broward College Degree Program: Associate of Science (AS) Early Childhood Education
Articulation Agreement Validity Period: 2022-2027 9 Credits Awarded (New Agreement Pending)
Statewide Articulation Credits Awarded: Students who complete the 600-clock hour program in Early Childhood Education shall articulate nine (9) college credit hours in program core and/or program electives as locally determined by the Community College to the AAS/AS degree in Early Childhood Education. In accordance with s. 1007.23(6), this agreement guarantees the statewide articulation of nine (9) credit hours towards a postsecondary degree in Early Childhood Education for programs approved by the State Board of Education, which: Award a Child Development Associate (CPREC001) credential or award a credential approved under s. 1002.55(3)(c)1.b. or s. 402.305(3) (c) as being equivalent; and include training in emergent literacy which meets or exceeds minimum standards for training courses for prekindergarten instructors of VPK programs.
Statewide Gold Standard Articulation Agreement: SBE Approved – 3/26/2010
The Child Development Associate certification shall articulate nine (9) college credit hours to the AAS/AS Degree in Early Childhood Education.
